#NotTheWellcomePrize Popular Vote Winner

As The Wellcome Book Prize took a break in 2020, book reviewer Rebecca Foster set up #NotTheWellcomePrize competition on Twitter, which was endorsed by The Wellcome Trust’s Director, Jermey Farrar. 19 books were longlisted, and a shortlist panel of 6 were chosen by a panel of book reviewers. The Remarkable Life of the Skin not only made the shortlist – it won Twitter’s popular vote of all shortlisted books. That wasn’t quite enough to win over the judges, however, who gave the crown to Sinead Gleason for her book Constellations.
